Forest for companies
Offset your company's carbon footprint and become an environmentally responsible company.
The conservation of the tropical rainforest, and the Indigenous peoples who protect it, is crucial for the life of the countries in the region and the planet as a whole. Here, in the “Great Colombian Maloca,” the continent’s water cycles are determined, the planet’s temperature is regulated, and the reproduction of biodiversity is guaranteed.
You’ve probably heard that there are foundations or organizations dedicated to funding social projects, whether to support people in crisis or to promote humanitarian and/or environmental projects.
Today, entrepreneurs are much more aware of the importance of being charitable, and they know that the result is beneficial for the customer, the company, and the environment. While it’s true that it’s increasingly easier to find socially responsible brands, the reality is that many don’t know how to achieve it, especially when they have an online store.
That’s why today we want to talk to all those entrepreneurs who are looking to do social work about the benefits of doing so and how to achieve it.
Benefits
Create long-term brand value – Build recognition and positioning in the minds of consumers, foster positive associations with social and environmental causes, and strengthen brand loyalty.
Differentiate yourself from the competition – Showing that your company supports the environment where your potential customers live is a powerful way to stand out from other businesses.
Build connections – Collaborate with non-governmental organizations, foundations, and other companies that bring both social and commercial value, expanding your network of contacts and partners.
Drive social innovation – Seeking social and environmental impact encourages brands to innovate and to develop products and initiatives that benefit their surroundings.
Promote social improvement – By making donations that create measurable impact, your company transmits strong values to both customers and other organizations.
There are many ways companies can contribute. For example, by selling sustainable products, adopting production practices that reduce environmental damage, launching awareness campaigns, or participating in fundraising initiatives where multiple companies or individuals join forces to raise funds that support different causes.
“The Neotropic Reserve covers 2,150 hectares of Andean forest.”
How can I support social causes from my online store?
There are different ways to support social causes, here we will talk about 2 ways:
1. By contributing a set percentage of your total sales to the adoption of a Neotropic Foundation forest.
You can publicize this initiative on your communication channels, add it to your sales strategy, and inform your customers, explaining why it’s important for them to help support this cause. Of course, don’t forget to provide a report that serves as proof of your donation. You can upload photos, videos of the contacts you had, or your tax return. This way, you won’t damage your reputation by not providing proof of your actions.
One way to communicate this is to implement a call to action on the page that appears after the customer completes their purchase. You can also offer them the option to make a donation to the foundation of their choice.
2. Choose or create products whose profits go specifically to adopt a forest, either on behalf of your company or your clients.
This option depends on the ideas you come up with to implement them, but they can include promotional products and items such as keychains, pens, etc., that have some benefit to the environment. The price may state that a certain percentage of the price will be donated directly to a foundation.
Similar to the previous idea, you must demonstrate that the money raised will actually go directly to the cause you chose.
No matter which option you choose, you can implement them on your e-commerce platform. In the long term, you will not only help charitable causes but also change the image and perception of your customers. They will remember you, and their purchases will generate change in society.
Remember that there will always be people willing to help others, so start thinking about how your online store or brand can be socially responsible.

Why conserve ecosystems and biodiversity?
Ecosystems and Biodiversity: The Life Support of Earth
Ecosystems and biodiversity are the vital life support systems of our planet — we depend on them for the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. Wetlands filter pollutants from the water; plants and trees reduce global warming by absorbing carbon; microorganisms decompose organic matter and fertilize the soil to produce our food. Biodiversity helps pollinate flowers and crops and also provides food and medicine for our well-being. Without it, we would not be able to survive.
The importance of our natural world is revealed in the countless ways that Earth’s organisms interact with one another, contributing to the balance of the global ecosystem and the survival of the planet. There is not a single form of life that can exist in isolation.
Why Is the Conservation of Tropical Ecosystems a Priority?
Tropical forest ecosystems harbor the greatest number of plant and animal species on Earth — many of which have not yet been discovered. As modern civilization continues to expand, an increasing percentage of these forests is being cleared for commercial purposes. The growing demand from both local and global markets for soy, corn, palm oil, cattle, and other products has driven the large-scale destruction of tropical forests. Each day, thousands of hectares are lost, along with countless species that have evolved over millions of years.
Unique ecosystems such as tropical rainforests and Andean cloud forests have already lost more than 95% of their original extent in many regions, and the lush Amazonian rainforests are being destroyed at an alarming rate.
Providing High-Value Services
Tropical forests provide a wide range of essential goods and services at both global and regional levels, making their conservation vitally important. Because of their high level of biomass, tropical forests help regulate the global climate, reduce the greenhouse effect by storing millions of tons of carbon in plant tissues and soils, prevent soil erosion, and protect the micro-watersheds that supply clean water to millions of people.
If a monetary value were assigned to these seemingly free services, it would amount to many billions of dollars each year.
A Wealth of Ecosystem Goods
Tropical forests also provide tangible goods such as timber, fibers, resins, and animal and plant products — thousands of edible species, of which only a small fraction enter global trade — as well as biological and genetic resources, and medicines. In fact, less than 1% of the world’s tropical forest plants have been studied for their pharmaceutical properties. Yet at least 25% of all modern medicines contain an active ingredient derived from plants — many of them first discovered and used by Indigenous peoples.
The Intrinsic Value of Tropical Forests
Tropical forests are also valuable simply for their existence, as they preserve the innate and cultural values of the natural world. Indigenous peoples depend on forests to sustain their ways of life, meet their food and housing needs, and maintain their cultural and spiritual traditions.
Many people also enjoy tourism and recreation in tropical forests; students, musicians, writers, and artists have been inspired by the breathtaking beauty of tropical biodiversity. By conserving biological diversity today, we make it possible for future generations to value and benefit from it as well.
Now More Than Ever, We Must All Be Conservationists
The degradation of natural habitats continues at an alarming rate, and the near future will determine how much of nature will survive — and which creatures will vanish, along with their unique genes and carefully evolved roles in the web of life.
Our generation will decide the outcome.
