Volunteer with Neotropic Organization

At Neotropic Organization, we believe in the power of collective action to protect our planet’s invaluable ecosystems. As an environmentally conscious organization, we are dedicated to safeguarding the inhabitants of tropical forests and their delicate ecosystems. Our mission is rooted in a commitment to fostering environmental awareness and enacting meaningful change, driven by grassroots movements and online campaigns.

Who We Are

Neotropic Organization is a politically impartial entity that operates independently from state or governmental funding. Founded on the principles of environmental stewardship, our organization relies solely on our own initiatives for financial support. We are a dedicated team of individuals who share a common passion for preserving the natural world and ensuring the well-being of its inhabitants.

Our Mission

Our primary focus at Neotropic Organization is to educate and inspire individuals to become stewards of the environment. Through grassroots movements and online campaigns, we strive to reach a wide audience and ignite a collective sense of responsibility towards our planet. By fostering environmental consciousness, we aim to empower communities to take action and implement sustainable practices.

Why Volunteer with Us

Volunteering with Neotropic Organization offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on environmental conservation efforts. As a volunteer, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to safeguarding tropical forests and their ecosystems. Whether you’re passionate about community outreach, digital advocacy, or environmental education, there’s a role for you at Neotropic Organization.

What You Can Expect

As a volunteer with Neotropic Organization, you can expect to be part of a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise towards meaningful projects that align with our mission. Whether you’re assisting saving tree species from extinction, planting new life or helping out at our farm  your efforts will directly contribute to positive change. Volunteers have their own living space and are responsible for their own cooking  and keeping their space clean. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner  and specific food requests can be made, before our supermarket runs.

Get Involved

If you share our passion for environmental conservation and want to make a difference, we invite you to join us at Neotropic Organization. Together, we can work towards a sustainable future for tropical forests and their inhabitants.

The farm site is located half an hour from Pereira and at a high elevation we experience a lot of rain and it can get cold. If you accepted as volunteer keep this in mind and bring warm clothing, as you’ll be on a farm there are many insects, please bring insect repellent! You’ll also be responsible for your own wellbeing and care when using equipment. We also require a beginner level of Spanish as we are non-english speakers.

Most of our volunteers apply via Worldpackers a site which connects volunteers to projects. If you are not on the platform you can also reach out to us via email at foundation@neotropic.org

If you would like to volunteer from afar, we require help from a social media and web expert.  Please contact us if you could help.

Please submit a cover letter expressing your interest in Neotropic and what skills you can bring to the project.

“I enjoyed my time at the farm. I am very grateful to Diego for everything he did for me. In this experience, you will always be surrounded by people because they have visitors almost every day of the week. You will participate in activities with the neighbors because it is a rural area that is always doing something together as a community. You will meet Doña Alicia, Diego’s mother, who will make you feel at home. She prepares delicious cakes, cheeses, and other delights.”

“Diego is an incredible host! His love and commitment to nature are admirable and worth emulating. He taught us about plant care, reforestation, and construction. The tasks to be done are very simple, and as a leader, he ensures that you feel very comfortable. As the icing on the cake, we were fortunate to share with his family, who welcomed us and made us feel like part of the clan. To top it off: the farm animals. We also interacted with the neighbors from the rural area, who, just like Diego, treat you verrry well!!! Simply thank you for allowing me to meet you all.”

“Our experience was wonderful – Diego and his family are truly good people and helped us a lot while we were there, more than we can repay. The space and the place are paradises, and we felt very comfortable there; the entire community and all the neighbors are friendly, and it was worth getting to know each one. The tasks were reasonable, and I learned a lot about my abilities while working. We liked the experience so much that we wanted to stay longer! I definitely recommend this experience to anyone, for any duration. Thank you!”
